First day at blogging.

And seriously, I don't even know why I am starting with this blog. It's good to have a look back at your game after you're done playing. You've got to take something further for the next day, cuz it doesn't make sense not to improve at something you do everyday. Especially if it's something like playing football, you sholdn't be stagnant, improve everyday, play on the other player's mind, try new things and keep the excitement alive.

I slept through the entire afternoon today after a night out and didn't have Lunch. Maybe the reason for my today's slump.

Some things were very noticeable. The defenders, when they want to dribble past you, would go for my right and then flick it to their left. I have a very instinctive response to this. I stick out my right foot, stretching to the right. If they were just faking, it's fairly easy for me to pivot on my left foot and then stop the ball by my right leg. I end up looking like I'm lunging forward with my left leg, but it's just me sticking out my right leg behind me.

It works, the defenders usually don't anticipate this. However, after a while, if the player is smart, it just gets boring. They know that's gonna happen. And I happen to be pretty dumb at the game considering that I'm actually trying out for the Hockey team. They just wait for me to pivot on my left and it takes a lot of time to get stability from there. Zook. The ball swishes past beside me from where it was originally meant to go - my right.

Also, looking at Lathi - it just seems that some people just have it in them. You can't match them. his body language or his attacking the ball stands out - literally stands out - in the quadrangle. It's not for no reason that he's the Insti's Sports sec.

Also, one of the mistakes that I kept making was during my intercepting the ball. If the ball's going to my right/left I reached out for it with my leg. A lot of times I got the ball, sometimes I didn't. However, if you strafe for the ball - that is move sideways before sticking your foot in the direction of the ball - it does the job. Basically you get more control on placing your leg.

The post is getting long - and it's more of a vomit rather than being a looking back with a touch of humour. I guess whatever that works is just fine - this is meant to be a log - not a column!

Another thing, I suck at controlling the ball when I have it. It's sad that the game I play is nothing but distracting the person who has the ball. Kokha/Akshaye was good at it. I guess I blocked him and confused him for around 15-20 seconds which is a good thing for me. However, he managed to change directions, control the ball even while he was confused and not do anything in desperation like simply trying to kick the ball past me. He played, I stuck to the dual and took the ball past me when he found an opening.

The last thing I could do was sweep my right leg behind, kinda like the pivoting thing I mentioned but not exactly that. You've got to look at the ball and then place your leg accordingly. That makes sense!

As of now, that's it. It feels good to have something going on the blog. By the way, this is my longest blog post ever and this is not even my primary blog!
